Comprehensive assessment of elderly population in North India during era of SARS-CoV-2 pandemic

Background: Elderly form a vulnerable population, during SARS-CoV-2 pandemic they are especially at risk due to immuno-senescence and increased number of comorbidities. The aim this study was assess the nutritional, physical mental status elderly living in urban areas north India lockdown period.Methods: A questionnaire made Google forms based on R-MAPP MNA Score. assessment carried out using telecommunication self-assessment forms.Results: Amongst people, 91% suffered from comorbidities (e.g. hypertension diabetes) with 37% having >2 8% were underweight, 45% normal 47% overweight as per BMI. Out total, 5% malnourished, 26% mal nutritional 69% had status. 38% observed change eating pattern which included healthier food for many snacking some. water intake below 1.5 litres 29%, 1.75-2.5 >2.5 24% population. Twenty percent high levels anxiety stress lock down period. Five these very or anxiety. Some extreme range. six complained loneliness.Conclusions: population needs be actively monitored wellbeing periods by applying algorithms that effectively use telemedicine tool regular check-ups.
